Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.

This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.

A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
