On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned communication data and evidence obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is considered the most publicized missing child cases and is still open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate recorded message, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I understand I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone said: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? Then what? Is that not important for you?"

"I do not need money, I have a life here in Poland, I only wish to know," the message continued.

The tribunal was told that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a attempt to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

The investigator, an investigator with the police force who collated the evidence, told the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore reached out to family friends of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.

On October 9th, 2024, Gerry McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I will continue and I plan to establish my claim."

The court heard Mrs Spragg struck up a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in the county in that winter.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had reached out through communication app to Mrs McCann to state the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the months preceding the visit to Rothley, that area, in that winter.

The court learned correspondence between the two defendants, in that autumn, discussing endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her garbage or from silverware at a dining venue.

"We must assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the trip to their home, the defendant transmitted a text which said: "We're currently positioned near the McCanns' house with our vehicle dark similar to investigators. I desired to do this with someone else I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
