A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the jet's front window, as stated by an announcement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed following standard protocol and all passengers, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer stated in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident does not mark the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting the US Secretary of State to Munich was compelled to turn back to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical fault.
