The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans offered sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
