Moclín, a picturesque white village in southern Spain, around a short drive from Granada, is the inspiring backdrop for this painting holiday. Artists of every skill level – including beginners – will learn how to design and produce non-representational pieces. Part of the schedule will be spent outdoors, working on structured activities in the open. These charcoal drawings and paintings will then be developed in the studio, with participants completing a number of interpretive scenes in acrylics to be displayed in the local community. The group has exclusive access of the venue, which is built around an open courtyard and has a rooftop with views over the countryside. This Mediterranean culinary holiday, based at a riverside villa in the inland Algarve, is draws inspiration from the vegetarian dishes of celebrated cooks. Attendees will master the art of selection of small dishes, take part in a hands-on falafel session, perfect mid-morning meals such as shakshuka, and make substantial main courses such as spicy mushroom ragu and moussaka. The schedule includes visits to the local market and a nearby winery to sample local vintages, along with leisure time for strolls by the Funcho River, to relax on the terrace or swim in the pool. This energetic camp is an uplifting, welcoming three-day adults’ street dance camp in High Wycombe. The daily schedule throughout the camp is a high-energy group warmup, followed by three hour-and-a-half classes covering different street dance styles, then an 60-minute jam to show off new moves. Participants are divided into groups according to ability and experience, so it is suitable for those who are brand new to street dance, all the way to advanced dancers or teachers. This event doesn’t include lodging but there are a number of hostels and hotels nearby, and it is under an hour by train into London.

Author and lecturer Greg Mosse runs the daily workshops on this authors' getaway. He covers everything from plot, characters, locations and suspense, to submitting work to publishers. A co-host, the well-known writer Kate Mosse, will co-host events at the beginning and end of the week. The retreat is held at a village-style hotel in Vamos at the base of the White mountains – 10 one- and two-bedroom cottages are set around a garden and pool (non-writing partners are encouraged to come along). These new weekend sailing courses are spent on Wayfarers and keelboats on the estuary in Essex. They are designed for adult beginners starting out or more experienced mariners who want a skills update.
